In September 2023, PROYA Foundation traveled to Fuyun County in the Altay region of Xinjiang to officially launch the "Love in the Frontier to Lighten up the Port" national border school dream center project. Since the launch of the project, a series of activities have continuously empowered the educational ecosystem in Fuyun County, Xinjiang, enhancing both the capabilities of teachers and the comprehensive qualities of students.
Dream Teacher Training and Exchange. In June, teachers from Dure Town Middle School and the principal and subject teachers from Qingdao Yinhai School participated in a two-day online teaching research and collective lesson preparation activity. The teachers collectively discussed the review of classical Chinese texts, the special review for the mathematics final exam, and the review of English tenses, aiming to enhance teaching effectiveness and students' learning abilities.
In August, principals Shayilaxi Danai and Zhao Xiaohua from Dure Town Middle School attended the National Principals Training Camp in Urumqi. The training camp featured keynote speeches, sharing of dream course concepts, demonstration class presentations, and exchanges of educational management experiences.
Operational Achievements of the Dream Center Curriculum. In the spring semester of 2024, Dure Town Middle School had a total of 24 dream teachers, offering 9 dream courses including Hometown and Community, Love and Dreams, Financial Management, and Going Somewhere Far Away, benefiting a total of 996 students.
"Go Somewhere Faraway" Study Tour Program In August, after a three-month "Going Somewhere Far Away" course where groups independently selected research themes and formulated travel plans, two teams stood out. With the support of PROYA Foundation, they embarked on an unforgettable study tour to Xi'an and Hangzhou. For the first time, the students traveled independently, experiencing the process of purchasing tickets and taking the train. They also engaged in a variety of cultural exploration activities in Xi'an. At the Qinqiang Opera Art Museum, students from the Xiangyang Team learned about the history and characteristics of Qinqiang Opera, witnessed the production and performance of shadow puppetry, and felt the charm of this traditional art form. The Hailan Team, focusing on the theme of technology, visited places such as the Zhejiang Science and Technology Museum and the Artificial Intelligence Town, enhancing their understanding of AI technology through on-site visits and interactive experiences.
With the ongoing advancement of the "Love in the Frontier to Lighten up the Port" project, the educational ecosystem in Fuyun County is revitalizing with new vigor. In the future, we look forward to seeing more students from border regions realize their dreams, contributing to the creation of a more prosperous and harmonious frontier.
